It works: results

Since its inception in 2005 up to now, Terrafina Microfinance has made a great effort to energize African roots through rural microfinance, thus contributing to poverty alleviation in three regions in Africa.

In four years time more than 135 projects were financed of which 114 were ongoing in 2008. A large variety of demands were included, from relatively straightforward financings of an existing MFI's business plan to training programmes, social performance initiatives and sector studies. In 2009 Terrafina finances ca 135 projects.

Some interesting examples of Terrafina's successes are presented as cases on the following themes; rural finance, crop insurance, social performance management, linking & merging and capacity building. Other achievements are presented in detail in the publication "Support to CVECA Kita Befoulabé".  

The cases and the graphs & figures confirm that Terrafina is doing a succesful but very labour and time intensive job with relatively small resources.
