A joint initiative

Terrafina Microfinance was founded in January 2005 as a joint microfinance programme of ICCO, Oikocredit International, and Rabobank Foundation. Key features of the partners:

ICCO: An NGO for development co-operation that provides financial support and advice to local organisations and networks across the globe that are committed to providing access to basic social services, bringing about fair economic development and promoting peace and democracy.
Rabobank Foundation: An international financial services provider operating on the basis of cooperative principles. Its foundation provides agricultural loans and other financial services to rural markets in Africa that are not adequately reached by established financial institutions.

Oikocredit: One of the world's largest sources of private funding to the microfinance sector, lending working capital to MFIs all over the wold. In turn, these MFIs dispense life-chainging loans to the poor and disadvantaged, with a special emphasis on rural areas and women.

 

Terrafina Microfinace also works with other partners to stimulate entrepreneurship in rural Africa through microfinance.
