Key figures

In Burkina Faso Terrafina's programming remains relatively small. Government ambitions to stimulate the microfinance sector are substantial, but challenges exist in implementation and supervision. To date, Terrafina is supporting two credit-led MFIs - Microstart and Graine - mainly with grants, while loans have come from Strømme Foundation. Both MFIs are developing positively and are increasing their outreach.

Secondly, Terrafina Microfinance is supporting four provincial cooperative networks, three through Sydev and the recently created BTEC Union (in cooperation with CISV). The support is intended to help the participating MFIs to consolidate and prepare for growth.
